Also known as: CID

A California legal term for a residential development in which individual owners share ownership of common areas and are members of a mandatory homeowners association. Common interest developments include condominiums, planned developments, community apartment projects, and stock cooperatives. They are governed by the Davis-Stirling Act and must comply with specific requirements for governance, financial management, and dispute resolution.
