EV Charging
Also known as: Electric Vehicle Charging Station
California laws governing the installation of electric vehicle charging stations in common interest developments. Under Civil Code Section 4745, HOAs must allow owners to install EV charging stations in their designated parking spaces, subject to certain conditions. The association may require the owner to maintain a homeowner liability insurance policy and comply with applicable building codes. The law reflects California efforts to promote electric vehicle adoption.
